Windows 10 to boost a Mac-style Trackpad Gestures Such as Fast App Switching when Released Microsoft’s Operating Systems Group vice president Joe Belfiore had recently announced the inclusion of a new touchpad gesture that will come to the Windows 10 preview in the next few weeks. This was announced by Belfiore during a TechEd Europre event last Tuesday. The pinch to zoom and pan and scroll were already offered with the Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 and some more gestures for PC users. But soon more gestures such as the fast app switching will be made available for the Windows 10, according to PC world. Some of the Windows 10 features includes support for multiple desktops, the Start menu (albeit reinvented), and the new task view. Also, the ability to use Mac trackpad gestures in Windows 10 will soon be realized. The gestures are suggestive of what we can find on the Mac. Users can swipe down with three fingers to reveal the desktop, and reverse that motion to return all your open windows. Once all your open apps are on the desktop, you can also use a three-finger upward gesture to reveal the new task view in Windows 10. In a statement made by Belfiore, he said that “Microsoft is making the trackpad changes to Windows 10 to create a more unified experience for the next version of Windows. In the past, touchpads on Windows have really been done very differently, because OEMs do them. With Windows 10 we’re adding support for power users in a touchpad where multiple finger gestures...can make you really efficient.” In an upcoming addition to the Windows 10 preview, you’ll be able to snap to the inside edge using a mouse, trackpad, or keyboard shortcut—your choice.
Samsung’s Find My Mobile App Vulnerability Can Lure Hackers to Interfere With Samsung Phones Phone hackers are the worst nightmares one could have right now and there have been numerous celebrities and non-celebrity alike that were victims of phone hacking. Recently, a security researcher had discovered a loose thread in the “Find My Phone” app by Samsung, which can lure hackers to obstruct with phones over the internet. It seems that Mohamed Baset found out that “Samsung doesn't properly check where requests to Find My Mobile come from,” according to Business Insider. In a nutshell, hackers can impersonate owner of the devices and obliterate the account. The Samsung Find My Mobile is an application that tracks down devices and lock or erase data when stolen. Once hackers interfere with the phone, “they can display a customized message on the phone screen, or find the phone's most recent location on a map. A hacker who attacked someone through the service could also force phones to ring on full volume for a minute, or even erase all data on the phone.” Samsung had acknowledged the security risk and had claimed that they have sorted out the issue on October 13 by releasing a security patch. Baset had even posted a youtube video on how easy it is to hack Samsung Phones via the Find My Mobile Application. Also recently, the National Institute of Standards and Technology had issued a statement about the hack: “The Remote Controls feature on Samsung mobile devices does not validate the source of lock-code data received over a network, which makes it easier for remote attackers to cause a denial of service (screen locking with an arbitrary code) by triggering unexpected Find My Mobile network traffic.” According to a report by Computer World, the app was given a 7.8 seriousness scale which means that this is damaging to a lot of Samsung users.
Blackberry Classic News and Updates: CEO Chen posted an Open Letter to Lure Back Loyal and New Customers to the Classic Phone we Always Loved Blackberry Classic is a way for the Canadian company to bounce back to the smartphone arena. Last Wednesday, Blackberry CEO John Chen posted an open letter showcasing the Blackberry Classic as the newest flagship of the company. This is to prove that the company is still up and running and ready to compete in the mobile phone market. The Blackberry Classic, known formerly as Blackberry Q20, is an attempt for the company to regain the smartphone market while sticking to the QWERTY keypad and a navigation trackpad that Blackberry is known for. The market for the Blackberry classic is gearing towards big businesses and government agencies and is expected to be launched by the end of this year. The Foxconn-designed phone may face a big challenge in gaining the trust from these intended markets as more and more businesses and government agencies are basking into the light of the iOS powered phones and Android devices, according to CNET. Chen’s letter is the subject of this plan by Blackberry, which is to tell loyal and new customers to stick with the “classic” phones versus “trendy” phones. Read on below: “It's tempting in a rapidly changing, rapidly growing mobile market to change for the sake of change -- to mimic what's trendy and match the industry-standard, kitchen-sink approach of trying to be all things to all people. But there's also something to be said for the classic adage, if it ain't broke don't fix it. BlackBerry Classic reflects that. It is classic BlackBerry -- complete with a top row of navigation keys and a trackpad. It's the device that has always felt right in your hands and always felt right in your busy day. Of course, we've made quite a few enhancements around the edges and on the inside. The screen is bigger and sharper. Our application catalogue is growing. The BlackBerry 10 operating system incorporates all the best productivity and collaboration features on any mobile device, including the BlackBerry Hub and our all-new BlackBerry Blend.” Stay tuned for the Blackberry Release date said to be before the year ends.

Top Gun 2 Reportedly Lands a Writer to Do the Sequel to the Tom Cruise 1986 Classic and Box Office Hit Top Gun 2 may happen after all now that Justin Marks, according to the Hollywood Reporter, is in negotiations with Paramount and Skydance to write the sequel to the critically acclaimed and commercially successful 1986 Top Gun original. Marks is credited with having written over 20 screenplays. He previously already worked with producer Jerry Bruckheimer on War Dogs. Of course, since the writing of the sequel is still just being talked about, there is nothing concrete yet as to when the Top Gun 2 full movie will really be made. Those searching the web for a Top Gun 2 trailer, a Top Gun 2 preview or a Top Gun 2 Wiki will find there is none yet. Obviously, there also is no Top Gun 2 cast yet. However, the now 52-year-old Tom Cruise is willing to reprise his “Maverick” role. In a talk a few months back with Access Hollywood, Cruise said, “Jerry [Bruckheimer] and I, we’re working on it. If we can figure it out, it’ll be a lot of fun. I’d like to get back in those jets if we could figure the story out.” For his part, Bruckheimer also want the Top Gun 2 movie to happen. In an interview with Digital Spy, the famed producer of such hits as Pirates of the Caribbean, National Treasure, and Bad Boys said, "It's been in the works for 35 years! We really want to make it, Tom is engaged and so is Paramount, so we hope we can bring it to an audience shortly." In another earlier interview with Huffington Post, Bruckheimer said, “Don [Simpson] and I tried to develop something, we didn’t succeed. [Tom] Cruise took over, and he tried to develop something, and he didn’t succeed. Now we’re back at it.” Tony Scott, the director of the original Top Gun film, before his death, left Bruckheimer and Cruise with a storyline they can work on. It has to do with drones. Said Bruckheimer, "The concept is, basically, are the pilots obsolete because of drones. Cruise is going to show them that they're not obsolete. They're here to stay." However, at this point, neither the very busy Cruise, nor Paramount, nor a director has officially actually committed to do the Top Gun 2 movie yet.
Alien: Isolation Review: A Flashback to the Original Movie through Sega’s ‘Alien’ Stealth Game, Various Reviews on Alien: Isolation Game Sega released their new survival horror stealth game, Alien: Isolation, on October 7 this year. The new Alien game is available for consoles PlayStation3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It’s also available for Microsoft Windows Users. So far, the game has been generally receiving good reviews. Den of Geek stated, “Isolation is made with a captivating attention to detail and what feels like a genuine affection of the original film. In fact, it could even be argued that some of its ideas could have been made into an effective cinematic sequel”. Another review commented on how the game lost its previous tension and horror when other characters came into the scene, “Sadly, I felt the game lost all of its scariness, tension and general feeling of a film when other characters were involved. The Alien didn’t move smoothly (at least when I saw it), and the other humans were terrible at conveying emotion”. Wired cited an interesting quote from a film critic of the 2003 Alien movie. The said film critic Roger Ebert stated, “At its most fundamental level, Alien is a movie about things that can jump out of the dark and kill you. One of [its] great strengths…is its pacing. It takes its time. It waits”. Wired commented on the critic’s quote stating, “It’s as if Ebert anticipated Alien:Isolation, only in Create Assembly’s version, you’re both instigator and victim”. For those of you who are interested in playing the game, Alien:Isolation revolves around a character named Amanda, who happens to be looking for her lost Mother. To find a flight recorder of Nostromo, Amanda is sent to Sevastopol – a space station. She later discovers that the station was attacked by an Alien, killing most of the crew at the station.
