Minecraft Gamers & Halloween Perks: 4J Studios Released Halloween Pack and Steampunk Pack for Xbox One and Xbox 360 Minecraft Gamers, PlayStation Version to Follow
4J Studios announced their latest news for Minecraft gamers via Twitter, stating that on October 29, Xbox One and Xbox 360 players of Minecraft will be getting their free Halloween themed texture pack. The free Halloween texture pack was launched along with the premium Steampunk pack. Now, both packs are on Xbox Live. While the Halloween pack is free, the Steampunk pack costs $1 on Xbox Live.
Both Halloween and Steampunk packs include a new theme-based UI. The Steampunk pack shows the Minecraft mobs as modern Victorian creatures. Meanwhile, the Halloween-themed pack shows the Minecraft enemies as creepy monsters.
Initially, 4J Studios did not mention whether the PlayStation3, PlayStation4, and the PS Vita gamers would be getting their versions of the Halloween-themed texture pack or not. Yet, 4J Studios just recently updated that the free pack will be available for PlayStation consoles, stating that the PS Minecraft gamers will "hopefully" get their free Halloween-themed pack next week.
In other news, Microsoft, the new owner of Minecraft, is thinking about a Minecraft 2. Yet, the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, is saying that Microsoft should consider the plan thoroughly, as Microsoft must consider the Minecraft community and its gamers before planning a new project, such as the Minecraft 2.
When asked about Minecraft 2, Spencer told IGN:
"I don't know if Minecraft 2, if that's the thing that makes the most sense. The community around Minecraft is as strong as any community out there. We need to meet the needs and the desires of what the community has before we get permission to go off and do something else. It doesn't mean that everything we're going to do is going to map to 100 percent of their acceptance, because I don't know if there is any topic where 100 percent of people agree. But we look at Job 1 is to go out and meet the needs of the Minecraft community first, and then we can think about ways that we can actually help grow it. That's our sole focus".
