Paul McCartney Joins Johnny Depp, Aerosmith's Joe Perry and Alice Cooper for Secret Studio Sessions
Some legendary recording sessions have secretly been taking place with an interesting group of famous names. Sir Paul Mccartney has been in the studio with Alice Cooper, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and famous actor, Johnny Depp.
Depp has been a longtime musician, who was playing guitar in bands before he even started acting, but you wouldn't automatically think of him being in the studio with these other big names in rock. The guys have been working on a top secret new project and there is not much else that is known beyond that.
Joe Perry spoke to the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper, sharing: "It's the great ego leveller. I was in the studio with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp, playing guitar, and the three of us are looking at each other like, hey, we're sitting here with Paul McCartney! And we're all looking at each other like open-mouthed kids."
When asked about McCartney, Joe revealed, "Paul was really nice. He's all about business (when he's recording). At 72 he can still hit all those notes... It's a project that we're keeping under wraps for now. There will be (an announcement when the time is right)."
Perry added, "I met him once or twice (over the years) to say hello. To spend six or eight hours in (a) studio with him recording! He makes you feel like (you're recording with just another guy). He just happens to be a motherf**king huge talent!"
Depp is known for joining some of his favorite bands on stage for a jam over the years. Just recently he joined Perry's band Aerosmith on stage at their gig in Massachusetts to play guitar on a few songs.
Johnny Depp is currently filming the Whitey Bulger crime drama Black Mass and taking breaks in between to attend these secret recording sessions.
