"Lego the Movie 2014": Meet a Bunch of Superheroes
A toy story that is not about toys, "Lego the Movie 2014" became a hot topic upon hitting the theaters in February 2014. For majority of movie goers, there is no reason that this movie had to be any good. Having a 96% rating at Rotten Tomatoes and 7.9/10 rating at IMDb, this just proves that "Lego the Movie 2014" is a success.
Some thought that this movie would be the typical children's movies. But, many were surprised as it is actually one of the best movies during this year.
The film revolves around Emmet Brickowoski, a typical construction worker, who stumbles upon the Piece of Resistance and was told that he might the one who can save the world. Together with Vitruvius, an intelligent wizard, and Wyldstyle, a female foil, he took a quest to take down Lord Business, who plans to control the universe of Lego using his mysterious weapon. There are also other characters that made this movie exceptional.
As described by The Verge, the world of "Lego the Movie 2014" is meticulously detailed and enormous. With a star-studded cast, this movie is not an ordinary film as this will be the best film about blocks that you will ever see. The "Lego the Movie 2014" also adopts a comedic style, which is best work of David Zucker.
According to Bloomberg, Warner Bros. is planning to release Lego spin-offs due to the success of the first installment. There will be also a sequel which will be released in 2018. It is expected that at least ten superhero movies will be released starting with "Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice," which will hit the theater by 2016. Other superhero films include "Justice League Part One" and "Wonder Woman" in 2017, "Aquaman" and "The Flash" in 2018, and "Green Lantern" and "Cyborg" in 2020.
Lego Batman will be the main priority of Warner Bros. over the sequel of "Lego the Movie 2014." Chris McKay, the supervisor of Lego Movie animation will be the one to direct the sequel and was asked to take charge of the "Lego Batman."
