'Batman: Arkham Knight' Game Release Date: Last of the Four-Chapter Series Scheduled for June 2, 2015 Release on Next - Gen Platforms
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced the new release date for the upcoming action-adventure video game "Batman Arkham Knight." Scheduled to be released on June 2, 2015, "Arkham Knight" will be the last of the four-chapter series, following the events of its 2013 predecessor, "Batman: Arkham Origins." Mashable also reports of the developer Rocksteady Games's new announcement via Twitter.
The game will engage the Dark Knight against his main enemy, the Scarecrow, who is a major threat in Gotham City because of his dangerous gas. In the game, Batman will fight against several enemies and mini-bosses, and the game will also introduce the new antagonist, the so-called Arkham Knight. The game will also feature the drivable Batmobile for the first time, as Joystiq mentioned. The vehicle can be summoned at anytime within the game, and has abilities like jumping, speed boosts, rotating and smashing through large objects like trees and barricades.
"Batman: Arkham Knight" was originally planned to be released on October 14, 2014, but is delayed for unknown reasons, Metro detailed. There were no official reasons for the delay, except of the fact that the game is not yet finished, but the June 2015 release date is a bit atypical. It is also mentioned that Warner Bros. will release the game in three different editions: the standard edition, and two separate collector editions - the first will be the "Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition" and will include a custom 80-page art book, a steel book case containing the game disc, an exclusive character skin pack, and a Batman Memorial Statue. The other collector's edition, named the "Batman: Arkham Knight Batmobile Edition," includes the Limited Edition items, but a fully transforming Batmobile Statue will be included instead of the Batman Statue. IGN reports that the "Limited Edition" costs $99.99 / £89.99 / €119.99 on consoles and £74.99 / €99.99 on PC, meanwhile the "Batmobile Edition" costs $199.99 / £169.99 / €199.99 and will be consoles-only.
The game will be released for the PC, Xbox One, and the PS4, and it will be for the next-gen only - there will be no PS3 and Xbox 360 versions planned for release.
