Windows Phone 8.1 News: More Perks for Windows Phone 8.1 Users, including Exclusive UC Browser Features and More
One of the latest news for the Windows Phone 8.1 is that it is now compatible with the award-winning browser - the UC Browser. The new version of the UC Browser has features exclusive to the Windows Phone 8.1 users. Microsoft continues to add new perks for their 8.1 users.
As for the Windows Phone 8.1, it's the most recent OS update from Microsoft, and it's one of the biggest and major updates to date. It comes with a massive set of new features, including Cortana - Microsoft's new digital assistant, while keeping the core design of Microsoft intact.
Among other things, the update introduces the "Live Folders", in which users can create folders on the Start screen. The update also comes with a New People Hub redesign with smaller fonts. The Phone History indicates repeat calls from a user with # representing the number of repeats. Time on the lock screen comes with a larger font, and moves down the screen display when there are notifications. Charging notification alert has a shorter, less annoying sound. Freshly installed apps will say "NEW" under their tiles in the App list. Games can now be installed under the App list in addition to the Games Hub, and the Games Hub removes SmartGlass linking and adds new Friends and Messages icons.
With Windows Phone 8.1, users can now customize the look of their device, but with a unique twist: users can now skin the Tiles with an image they like, Tiles become transparent, and the image shows through the Tile.
Also, the recent OS update brings better signal, data connection, Wi-Fi, and battery.
