'Criminal Minds' Season 10 Episode 2 'Burn' Recap - Garcia Seeks Closure and Faces Her Past
"Criminal Minds" Season 10 Episode 2 "Burn" Recap - Garcia Seeks Closure and Faces Her Past
In "Criminal Minds" Season 10 Episode 2 titled "Burn," Garcia knew she had to do it - she needs to face the man she shot, Entertainment Weekly reports. If you can remember in Season 9, Garcia shot the man who was trying to kill Reid and apparently up until now, she's not at peace with it. She's having nightmare and she feels like the man doesn't deserve the death penalty. Morgan was trying to make her see that she didn't do anything wrong but Garcia is adamant.
Of course, it wouldn't be "Criminal Minds" if there's no psychopath out there in a killing spree. The plot uses Dante's Inferno to choose his next victim. He locates parents with violent tendencies towards their children. The team connected their Dante Inferno's theory to a young boy named Nathan Chow. They checked his dormitory and found some parts used in making a bomb.
The scene then shifted to Garcia finally meeting Baylor, 10 hours before being executed, emphasizing that "he's a killer" and there's nothing Garcia can do about it. The most ironic thing about Garcia meeting Baylor is when she was asked to attend Baylor's execution. Baylor revealed that nobody reached out to him except for Garcia. Go figure. Garcia went there to find some closure and now she's being invited to watch Baylor's execution.
As the team continued to dig on the life of Nathan Chow, they found a connection for Justin Leu - Nathan's teacher, The Celebrity Café reports. The team found out that Leu had a very difficult upbringing - strict parenting and abusive. Leu's elder brother committed suicide when they were young. His father recently passed away and it triggered all the memories - then Justin Leu started killing and the team walked on him trying to kill victim number 7.
In the end, as publicized by Zap2it, Garcia did choose to attend Baylor's execution. When Baylor was asked if there's anything that he wants to say, he looked at the people sitting and was trying to locate a familiar face. When he finally found Garcia, he uttered the words "Thank you." Maybe now Garcia can have a little peace knowing that she did connect with Baylor and was able to support him at the end.
