Samsung Galaxy Alpha Review, Specs, Features, Price: Dubbed as Samsung's Best Looking Overpriced Metal Smartphone?
Samsung is known for its high-performing and tech-forward smartphones; however, aesthetic appeal has been a dark hole against Samsung's line of products. As the market competition becomes tighter and tougher, the Korea based company made its very first sleek and stylish handset.
The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is tagged as the company's initial effort in catching up with Apple's well-known elegant designs, Latinos Post reported. "The Samsung Galaxy Alpha seeks to turn things around for the Korean manufacturer. Not only is the Galaxy Alpha visually and genuinely attractive, far from other Samsung devices."
Despite record breaking sales of Apple's new iPhone series, tech-savvies has a lot of nice words for Samsung's first handset made of metal.
In its review, Engadget commended the name of the smartphone itself. "When a company names one of their product (sic) after the first letter of the Greek alphabet, it means business... The name alone exudes confidence."
Unlike Samsung's previous gadgets, Galaxy Alpha is has a really stunning façade with simpler and ordinary core. Reviewers have praised the sleek metal frame of the 4.7-inch handset but noted that the features of the smartphone are not parallel enough to the company's tradition of being technologically advanced.
On the other hand, this does not mean that Galaxy Alpha has a problem in terms of its software and hardware aspects. Gizmodo said in a review that the newest Samsung smartphone performs well enough. "The performance also doesn't disappoint. It's fast and fluid." In terms of battery life, Galaxy Alpha's 1860 mAh battery can last up to 16 hours of continuous use.
Amidst good reviews in terms of appearance and performance, many considered Samsung Galaxy Alpha as another overpriced phone. "As beautiful as the Galaxy Alpha may be, its price leads to its ultimate downfall," a consumer notes.
The sleek and stunning handset is available for $200 with a two-year contract with AT&T. Its price is as expensive as Galaxy S5 which is undoubtedly more worth-it in terms of its features and specifications. Its 32 gigabyte storage is also not expandable.
With the launch of the best looking Samsung smartphone to date, Android fans are indeed excited to see what the company has to offer after Galaxy Alpha in the arena of designer smartphones.
