VAIO Prototype Tablet PC vs. Microsoft Surface Pro 3: Features, Specifications, Price - A Comprehensive Comparison
After a long break, VAIO is returning to the Sony platform again with a new tablet PC concept that might find competition from Microsoft. Experts claim that the latest tablet PC Microsoft Surface Pro 3 will be competing against the monster tablet Sony VAIO. Time will decide the winner once both of them face the market.
Sony VAIO tablet will have 12.3-inch display size with 2560 x 1704-pixel resolution display. The display is capable of covering over 95 percent Adobe RGB color. The display also supports a digital pen. The Surface Pro versions come with 10.6-inces to 12 inches display model where the resolution varies from 1920 x 1080 to 2160 x 1440 pixels. The pixel density is also very sharp with 207ppi to 216ppi pixel density.
Not much has been revealed by the Sony Corporation about the VAIO tablet PC, but it will have Intel quad-core chip processor. For optimum graphics acceleration, Intel Iris Pro graphics will be introduced for smooth operation. The Surface Pro comes with 5 versions with different configuration.
The surface Pro 3 version has powerful haswell Core i5-4300u chipset, which works with 1.9 GHz clock speed. The GPU is decent with Intel HD 4400 GPU emulator. The device contains 8GB of RAM slot. So multitasking programs are pretty easy to handle without any lags.
Surface Pro 3 supports 5MP front facing camera, which allows to record video of 1080p at 30frames per second. The rear-facing camera also has 5Mp camera sensor and allows 1080p video recording. The device gets loud a bit when it needs to perform heavy-duty tasks. But that is not regular issue.
Both the devices support external keyboard. So it might feel like that the user is working on a laptop rather on a tablet. The Surface Pro 3 and Sony VAIO tablets offer high-end technologies and it also works excellently as a substitute of laptop. The day is not very far when laptop or notebooks will be substituted by this type of high-end tablets.
