One Direction New Album: Boy Band Now with 'Four' in Five-Album Contract
One Direction's new album 2014 release is slated for November 17. Entitled "Four," the upcoming One Direction album track will be carried by the Columbia Records and Syco Music labels. The boy band announced the title and release date of "Four" via their official website along with a token of appreciation for their fans - a free download of the song "Fireproof." In their own words, One Direction says: "We're so excited to announce our fourth album, Four! We've worked incredibly hard writing and recording it whilst we've been on the road and we couldn't have done it without your support. It's over now, but we hope you enjoyed the free download of 'Fireproof.' We can't wait for you to listen to the album in full. Thank you, you guys mean the world to us."
Aside from "Fireproof," the upcoming One Direction album's tracklist will include the singles "Story of My Life" which generated 1.1 million downloads within 24-hours after release on September 22 and "Steal My Girl" which was released September 29. "Four" will follow "Up All Night," "Take Me Home" and "Midnight Memories" among the studio albums of One Direction songs. The group is under a five-year, five-album contract with Sony so the still-to-be-developed One Direction new album 2015 will likely be their last with the label. One Direction is composed of 21-year-old Niall James Horan, 21-year-old Zain Javadd "Zayn" Malik, 21-year-old Liam James Payne, 20-year-old Harry Edward Styles, and 22-year-old Louis William Tomlinson. They were given their big break in the business by Simon Cowell's Syco Records label after finishing third in the 2010 X Factor competition.
In related One Direction news, MTV reports that the British boy band "hold a 50-percent stake in the London-based company known as 5SOS LLP," which owns an Australian pop-punk outfit made up of Ashton Irwin, Calum Hood, Luke Hemmings and Michael Clifford which serve as their opening act for their concerts.
