'Law & Order: SVU' Premiere Episode Puts Olivia in a Different Light
We've all been waiting for the first episode of the latest season of "Law & Order Special Victims Unit" and after watching it, I guess it is safe to say that the season is going to be more complicated than ever. The first episode is lighter, if you will compare it to other episodes of "Law & Order: SVU," and it did tie up loose end from the last season.
Viewers are curious as to how Olivia is going to balance motherhood and her job as a sergeant at SVU. Not to mention the perils that her career entails. In the premiere episode, the life of Olivia's new son, Noah, was threatened when Olivia got too close in identifying the one who killed Noah's biological mother, Ellie.
A "young blood," Detective Carisi played by Peter Scanavino was also introduced and he's stirring up SVU. He has his own unorthodox way of dealing with things, but he gets things done. Viewers are wondering how he's going to fit into the culture of the department. Are conflicts brewing within the team?
The premiere episode laid down the ground work for the rest of the season - maybe Amaro is going to be back with the rest of the team? Can Olivia handle the pressure? Is Detective Carisi staying for good?
The second episode of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" will open up a new case for the team - and it's a high profile one. According to the synopsis, the case is a shake one and ADA Barba is going to have a hard time getting a conviction against a basketball superstar, Shakir, "The Shark" Wilkins played by Henry Simmons. The case gets more complicated when Detective Carisi questions the validity of the victim's story. The victim is Carla Cannon played by Kelley Missal.
