The Goldbergs Season 2: More Sweaters, Suburban Living, Mix Cassette Tapes, And Other Sentimental Memorabilia From That Other 80s Show
The Goldbergs cancelled? Not true at all. Despite David Hinckley of NY Daily News saying that "none of us deserve The Goldbergs," the sitcom show has been renewed for another season. In fact, The Goldbergs Season 2 will already be airing its premiere episode this Wednesday, September 24, at the 8:30 PM time slot on ABC, right after the network's other hit comedy family series - The Middle.
Loosely based on creator and showrunner Adam Goldberg's childhood during the late 1980s as he was growing up in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, The Goldbergs cast regulars are Sean Giambrone as his younger self, Wendi McLendon-Covey as his mother Beverly, Jeff Garlin as his father Murray, Troy Gentile as his older brother Barry, Hayley Orrantia as his older sister Erica, and George Segal as his maternal grandfather Albert "Pops" Solomon. The voice of Patton Oswalt is used as Adam Goldberg's older self during the narration segments of the show.
A complete The Goldbergs episode guide for season 1 is available at The Goldbergs imdb as well as on ABC. All past The Goldbergs episodes can be binge watched in one sitting, including fan favorites The Goldbergs Season 1 episode 10, titled "Shopping," which features Erica's new job being jeopardized when Beverly goes overboard with her employee discount, and The Goldbergs "Sweater Party" episode 23 finale (also titled "Livin on a Prayer") when the Goldberg house ended up becoming one gigantic sweater party with every one of the guests being made to wear Beverly's sweaters.
For The Goldbergs Season 2, the premiere episode will be titled "Love is a Mix Tape" and it will have young Adam taking the next step in his blossoming relationship with Dana (played by guest star Natalie Alyn Lind) by creating a mix tape for her, but the tape falls into Beverly's hands instead, while elsewhere, Barry gets caught with a fake ID in school.
There is no The Goldbergs Channel 7, although newscaster Lee Goldberg may be accessed on ABC 7 Eyewitness News.
