Google Nexus 8 Release Date, Rumors, Tablet 2014 Review And HTC Leaks: HTC Has An Event Scheduled For October And It Is Speculated That The Google Nexus 8 May Be Launched Then
We have the latest on the release date, rumors, tablet 2014 review and HTC leaks of the Google Nexus 8. This will be the next tablet that has the upcoming Android L operating system. Reports have it that the Nexus 8 will be a follow up of the previous Nexus 7 and is due in a couple of months. According to reports, HTC will be partnering with Google in the manufacturing of the Nexus 8 following the Asus-made Nexus 7. This is based on a leaked image with an alleged model number - OP8210000- which also appears in the RRA certification entry. According to the certification, the entry indicates that the device is produced by HTC.
HTC will be holding a launch event on October 8th and it is speculated that the Google Nexus 8 may be launched then. Other reports suggest that the tablet may be announced together with the official unveiling of the Android L operating system. October or November seems like the most plausible dates for the Google Nexus 8 release.
There are reports that the Nexus 8 may be called the Nexus X and could likely be similar to the new Moto X Smartphone. According to leaked reports, Google will incorporate a 64 bit processor ditching the Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. Google will use the new Nvidia Tegra 64 bit processor. It will have 4GB worth of RAM.
According to a leaked video ahead of the official announcement from Google, the Nexus 8 will have an 8.9 inch display screen with 2048 by 1440 resolution; this means 281 pixels per inch. Furthermore, the reports suggest that the Nexus tablet will ditch the AMOLED display for the LCD panel. Buyers will be offered a choice of 16 GB and 32 GB internal memory, no indications yet suggest whether there will be a microSD card slot included.
Additional features for the Google Nexus 8 will include MDM9*25 chip for 4G - LTE network, GPS and NFS, an 8 megapixels rear camera with a 1.6 megapixels front camera. Other features include sensors (Compass and Accelerometer), USB 2.0, tethering functions, computer and OTA sync.
