Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Release Date & Other Latest News: Pre - Orders Shot Up After Activision Announcement, But Game Won't Have Wii U Launch
It seems like the upcoming and long awaited latest addition to Activision's "Call of Duty" series is doing well right by its own before it is even out.
As reported by Amazon, pre - orders for the much anticipated "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" dramatically shot up by 385% after Gamescom 2014. It is not very clear why the sales for pre - orders spiked up that much. However, it could have something to do with Activision's announcement of a pre - order only, Day Zero Edition at Gamescom that would allow gamers to have a hand at the eleventh instalment of the popular video game franchise a day earlier before the date of its launching.
The CEO of Activision, Eric Hirshberg, had said in an interview earlier this month that the pre - order sales for "Call of Duty" had been falling short quite recently. According to him, this little treat should be warmly welcomed by fans and anticipators.
In other news, Chief Operating and Development Officer Michael Condrey of Sledgehammer Games - the ones responsible for the development of COD: Advanced Warfare - confirmed that a Wii U version of the game will not be worked on. An "Activision decision," it would seem.
"Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" will be released on November 4, 2014 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.
