Crystal Lewis is Back with New Single "STRS"
Four-time Dove Award-winning, GOLD recording artist Crystal Lewis is back with a brand new single "STRS." The new song is written by Lewis and it is produced by Tony Guerrero. Take a listen to the song HERE.
Lewis wrote the song this past summer while she was in quarantine spending time in God's creation looking at the sky at night.
Lewis reveals how the song came about: "I wrote this song during my 2 week Airstream quarantine in Montana this past summer. The Big Sky at night is no joke! Sitting out under the STRS after midnight (it doesn't get dark until 10ish) very nearly made me dizzy! Their beauty was breathtaking. Initially inspired by my desire to sleep under them, I continued fleshing out the lyrics and melody while on my stand up paddle board the next day in the middle of Salmon Lake outside of Missoula.
I sent my song to Tony Guerrero, per the yooooszh, and he had a demo track back to me in less than 48 hours! Eventually Clifton Williams, Trevor Ware and John Ferraro breathed their beautiful musical breath into it... as did Tony on trumpet. Honestly... it's one of my favorite things I've written to date. I hope it makes you feel like it makes me feel... that anything is possible under the STRS."
Lewis is a critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter, multi-Dove Award winner and Grammy nominee. In a day and age where so many artists come and go, her voice has withstood the test of time. Over the course of nearly three decades, Lewis has released more than 27 albums (including seven albums in Spanish, two live albums, two Christmas albums and a children's album). Lewis has sung alongside a multitude of iconic artists like Yolanda Adams, CeCe Winans, Donna Summer and Steven Curtis Chapman. At the 1999 Grammy Awards, she performed "Lean on Me" - a track nominated for three Grammys including Song of the Year - with Kirk Franklin, Bono and Mary J. Blige.
