Evvie McKinney Releases Debut Single "Just Like God"
Motown Gospel/Capitol CMG Gospel music recording artist Evvie McKinney has debuted her new single "Just Like God," which is available now on all digital platforms. The new release follows a highly successful summer debut of her hit single "Bring The Whole Hood" co-written with Meghan Trainor.
"Just Like God" blends together genres of soul, rock, R&B and gospel to create a unique sound that beautifully showcases Evvie's range and musicality. As Evvie belts out lyrics such as "I see blessings falling out of nowhere...", the song comes as a testament to her strong faith and mission to inspire others through her testimony. "Just Like God" is a song that was written to inspire and motivate others to trust God to do the supernatural in their lives," says McKinney.
In addition to releasing new music, Evvie was featured recently as co-host of The Stellar Awards' Pre-Show Experience alongside Grammy-nominated artist Todd Dulaney. Known as one of the biggest nights in gospel music, The Stellar Awards is the first and oldest televised awards show to honor Gospel music and has featured some of the industry's biggest names. "Just Like God" kicked off its promising Gospel radio campaign on nationally-syndicated radio show Get Up! Mornings With Erica Campbell. Evvie joined the Grammy-winning, Gospel music sensation on the show to chat about the single and all things Stellar Awards.
Evvie McKinney rose to prominence as the winner of the inaugural season of the TV singing competition The Four: Battle for Stardom on FOX. The soulful singer wowed judges Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, DJ Khaled, and Meghan Trainor with her powerful voice and fearless stage presentation, packing a punch as she effortlessly covered iconic soul songs, like Aretha Franklin's "I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You" and Tina Turner's "Proud Mary."
"As a multi-faceted and versatile performer, singer and songwriter, Evvie is raising the bar in the industry," shares EJ Gaines, Co-Executive Director, Motown Gospel. "Beyond her talent, her sweet spirit and charming personality are inspiring and warming the hearts of audiences everywhere."
