Ethan Kent Declares "God is Good" in these Uncertain Times
In 2014 Gospel and Christian music was introduced to a multi-gifted musician, poignant songwriter, and zealous worshipper named Ethan Kent. His debut album WORK IN PROGRESS landed on the Billboard Charts, boasted the hit single "My Hope Is In Glory" and opened the doorway for the singer to voice his heart and share a soulful, groovy, worship style of music that has been a much-needed breath of fresh air for Christian and Gospel music.
Ethan has released a series of successful singles since then and has a new timely single called "God Is Good" that was birthed from his own life experiences and from a desire to offer the world a sound of hope in uncertain times.
With 2020 proving to be a very difficult year from the global Covid-19 pandemic to racial injustice and civil unrest, Ethan, like most Americans, is navigating through life being interrupted and being shifted to an unknown 'new normal'. Ethan's life has been compounded even more so with his wife being laid-off of her job and his mother being diagnosed with cancer and suffering from a stroke.
Through his new single, Ethan declares for himself, his family, and for the world that "by the grace of God we are still standing and confident that we will see the goodness of God."
Ethan candidly shares, "Itʼs been a minute since Iʼve released music, but I feel like the good news of the Gospel and life experiences have burdened me with something to say. I pray this lyric and melody connects heart to heart and awakens faith in a world filled with sickness, economic loss, and incivility."
He continues, "So in true 'My Hope Is In Glory' style and tradition, I took out my pen and gathered a few of my amazingly talented Dallas-based independent artists and worship leaders, Ryan Brockington, Arie & Eme and Tamerick Brazzell to help me declare this honest and faith-filled response to all the chaos happening around the world."
"God Is Good" is written by Ethan, Marcelino Alfaro and Jamall Houston. The song is available on all digital music and streaming outlets now via Ethan's TONIC BLUEPRINT independent label.
Ethan remains committed to the local church. He serves as the Worship and Production Director and leads worship regularly at Calvary Church of Irving under the leadership of Pastors Ben and Kim Dailey. Ethan is actively involved in writing and producing original multicultural worship music for Calvary Worship who has released two original live worship albums SOUND OF GRACE and DECLARATIONS Part 1.
In addition to the single, Ethan created a companion lyric video for "God Is Good" that is available on YouTube. Ethan's life, his songs, and his encouragement to everyone is - "Life ainʼt always fair, but GOD IS GOOD!"
