Chosen Road Releases New Album "Appalachian Worship"
Think the flawless vocal acrobatics of the likes of Rascal Flatts or Restless Heart married with the soothing, expert instrumental precision of a Nickel Creek and you have accurately depicted Chosen Road. This quintet from the hills of West Virginia has just released their new album Appalachian Worship.
Chosen Road bandleader Jonathan Buckner has this to say about the new album: "The new album, Appalachian Worship, has been about two years in the making. It's an album that features some of the church's favorite worship songs presented in a bluegrass format. The album features a couple original songs, as well as a guest performance by top selling Christian Contemporary artist Phillips, Craig, and Dean. From the get go we wanted the album to be an encouragement. In our home region of Appalachia, so many people are depressed, oppressed, and just hopeless. Drugs have wreaked havoc in our communities, families are falling apart, and people are searching for a light. We wanted this album to bring hope to these people. That's what it's all about for us."
Chosen Road was established in July of 2009 when a group of friends came together to do more than just make music. Being raised in the mountains of southern West Virginia and western North Carolina each member has developed a profound love for the music they were raised on. From this love has stemmed a sense of responsibility to share bluegrass music with potential fans around the world. Most importantly, the guys developed a love for Jesus Christ the day they trusted in Him as their Lord and Savior. The realization of the saving grace offered by Jesus Christ is what keeps these young men on the road.
Traveling full-time, Chosen Road presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ through bluegrass music in churches, fairs, festivals, and other venues over two hundred and fifty times per year. Their approach to sharing Christ through the music they love is quite different than most. The only reason Chosen Road travels is to bring glory to Jesus Christ. Their presentation of the Gospel though song is stripped of entertainment value and presented in a genuine heartfelt manner that places the focus on the only one who deserves it, Jesus Christ.
Throughout their 10 years of ministry, Chosen Road has shared the message of Jesus Christ to millions as they have traveled across the United States, Scotland, France, and Ireland.
Appalachian Worship is available now wherever you stream or download music online, and to radio programmers via AirPlay Direct. CDs and LPs can be purchased from the band's web site.
