World Help Gift Catalog Offers Shoppers an Opportunity to Impact Lives this Christmas
World Help is celebrating the holiday season by offering purposeful giving opportunities for shoppers wanting to make a positive impact in the lives of others around the world.
The World Help Christmas Giving Catalog features humanitarian gifts that provide education opportunities, jobs, clean water, access to medicine, emergency aid and relief, and freedom from modern-day slavery. It's a way for socially conscious shoppers to connect with the immediate needs of impoverished communities in Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Instead of shopping for electronics or clothes, shoppers can purchase gifts that can help lift a family out of poverty.
Holiday shoppers also can purchase merchandise - including scarves made by Nepali artisans, hammocks from Guatemala and nativity scenes carved by woodworking apprentices in Rwanda - to give as gifts to friends and family members.

"In the hustle and bustle of the holiday sales, it's easy to get lost in the consumerism of the season and forget the true reason we celebrate," said Vernon Brewer, founder of World Help. "However, this season is an opportunity to remember that God has already given us so much through His Son, Jesus Christ. Because we have been given grace, we, too, need to give to others."
Josafat and Enoch are two examples of how generosity can impact a community. Born to poverty-stricken parents in Guatemala, Josafat was starving because his mother could not provide enough breastmilk to properly nourish her newborn son. Enoch, a 26-pound, 8-year-old boy in Haiti, desperately needed medical care and food to survive. Through the contributions of people just like you, World Help was able to provide the lifesaving medical treatment and nourishment needed to save these boys' lives and restore them to health. The Rescue a Malnourished Child gift (starting at $50) provides nutrition and medical treatment for a child who is suffering from malnutrition in communities in Haiti, Uganda and Guatemala.
"This is why we created the World Help Christmas Giving Catalog," Brewer said. "It's an opportunity to bless others and give more than just an item. Through these purposeful gifts, we have the chance to extend hope, dignity and freedom to people who desperately need resources to survive."
Bicycles are another example of a gift shoppers can purchase to help others in need. In many communities around the world, a bicycle is more than just a toy to pass the time. It allows fathers to travel farther to find jobs to provide for their families. Mothers can easily carry water and wares to the market, and when medical emergencies arise, a bicycle can be the difference between life and death. In addition, pastors can use bicycles to travel from village to village to share the gospel and minister to their congregations.
Shoppers who can't decide which gift to give have the option to choose Where Needed Most. These donations will go directly to World Help's global projects and meet some of the most urgent needs around the world. And because of a special matching gift, all Where Needed Most donations are matched up to $50,000.
