Brooke Fraser Reflects on Her 14-Year Career with "A Sides"
Sony Music is proud to announce the release of Brooke Fraser's A Sides collection on November 25th. The album brings together fourteen singles from Brooke's fourteen-year career along with a brand new track Therapy recorded with her countryman Joel Little in Los Angeles.
With a career commencing at the age of just 18, Brooke has clocked up a remarkable number of achievements to be celebrated with this collection. Brooke Fraser's A Sides lets us take a moment to listen to the very best to date from one of our greatest musical talents and most successful artistic exports.
Her 2003 debut What To Do With Daylight made her a household name in New Zealand with hits likeBetter and the timeless Arithmetic.
The title track to her 2007 follow-up Albertine celebrated her passion for Africa while the album gave us the massive singles Deciphering Me and Shadow Feet, seeing her reputation grow further afield - especially in Australia and the US.
Flags, released in 2010, opened the international floodgates for Brooke with the worldwide smash Something In The Water, a Gold selling single in six countries.
Her latest album Brutal Romantic saw Brooke recording in the UK and develop her sound more with the singles Kings & Queens and Magical Machine.
Brooke's song writing talent has been acknowledged with the APRA Silver Scroll forAlbertine, over 16 platinum sales discs in New Zealand alone, over 265,000 album sales in New Zealand alone and 700,000 worldwide - impressive numbers by any standard backed up by a consistency of quality through her remarkable catalogue.
It's already been an incredible career, making her one of New Zealand's most-loved artists of the past decade. She has shared the stage with artists like David Bowie, opening on his New Zealand tour in 2004, and toured throughout the world.
New song Therapy, her first recording since she took a break for the birth of her daughter Dylan Wilde, shows Brooke's talent for thoughtful hooks and charming pop songs - the things we all fell in love with right at the start - are undiminished. That's a promise too for many more to come but, for now, enjoy her A Sides to date.
