WOW Hits 2017 captures 30 songs of the most popular Christian songs on 2 CD's. The set includes the latest hits by Francesca Battistelli, Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns, for KING & COUNTRY, Third Day, Chris Tomlin & more. In its third week on Billboard Christian Albums chart, WOW Hits 2017 ascends 2-1 (8,000 copies sold, up 12 percent, in the week ending Oct. 13, according to Nielsen Music). Every yearly edition has hit No. 1 since 2003, except for 2008's, which reached No. 2.
Established in 1995 with collaboration between Capitol Christian Music Group, Provident Music Group, and Word Entertainment, the three largest Christian music and entertainment companies; WOW releases multiple compilation albums each year, including WOW Hits, WOW Gospel, WOW Worship, and WOW Christmas. The marketing and distribution of WOW is shared among the three companies. The entire WOW branded series (Hits, Worship, Gospel, Christmas, and specialty releases) tops 30 MILLION units in sales.
