Joey + Rory Feek & Hillary Scott Among the 2016 Inspirational Country Music Awards Nominees
This year's Inspirational Country Music Awards nominees have been announced. One of the most touching moment is that Joey + Rory Feek are among the nominees. Artists are nominated to recognize their efforts in promoting the messages of "Faith, Family & Country," which is also a slogan of the organization.
Indeed, Joey + Rory Feek have promoted their faith with the release of their final album Hymns That Are Important to Us. Not too long after the album's release, Joey Feek passed away after a battle with cancer. Fans both old and new had followed the Feek's story for months, and that interest helped Hymns top both the Billboard Top Country Albums and Top Christian Albums charts in its first week.
Other nominees for the 22nd annual ICM Awards include Hillary Scott, Brad Paisley, Josh Turner, Mo Pitney, Ricky Skaggs, Scotty McCreery, Tim McGraw and Vince Gill who are all nominated for the Mainstream Country Male Artist of the Year Award. In the Female Mainstream Country category, Scott and Joey Feek were nominated, along with Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, Kelsea Ballerini, Lauren Alaina, Maddie & Tae, Martina McBride, Sara Evans and Trisha Yearwood. Artists are nominated to recognize their efforts in promoting the messages of "Faith, Family & Country," which is also a slogan of the organization.
In the fall of every year, The Inspirational Country Music Awards celebrate the year-long accomplishments of the industries brightest new talent, biggest stars and living legends. The Awards also serve as a yearly testament to the accumulative work and effort of The Inspirational Country Music Association.
Inspirational Country Music enjoys one of the most loyal fan-bases in the music industry. That quality makes it extremely accepting and welcoming to new artists. While not as large an industry as Mainstream Country, the unique Inspirational Country fan loyalty allows artists the opportunity to grow careers as well as ministries.
