Tim McGraw's Inspiration Hit "Humble and Kind" Will Become a Book
Veteran country music superstar Tim McGraw's latest single "Humble and Kind" has become his fifty-second Top 10 Country hit. This places him in twelfth place among artists with the most Top 10s in the seventy-plus year history of Billboard's Country chart. The inspirational new single has encouraged so many fanss that soon it will become a book.
The hit song written by Lori McKenna was inspired by McGraw's daughter leaving for college. The song speaks about not letting success and life get in the way of being humble and kind. The ensuing book will feature the lyrics, illustrations and an introduction by the country star, and it will come out May 17. The book is timed, of course, for graduation season. Lori McKenna, who wrote the lyrics, contributes an epilogue.
McGraw said in a statement issued through Hachette that he was proud the song "speaks equally to the world and the individual." He is donating proceeds from the book to charity. "This song is so special to me. I really wanted a video that showed the universality of the message of Humble and Kind. Thanks to Wes Edwards for executing this vision and to Oprah Winfrey for lending us scenes of Belief from all over the world. I hope you like it as much as I do."
The song and video has its own website (http://stayhumbleandkind.com) intended to gather related stories about acts of kindness that have been shared with the hashtag #stayhumbleandkind. The day after the music video was released, Opraph Winfrey tweeted her approval of the video, saying "TIM, I love this song. Every word feels true."
