"Real Men Love Jesus" Michael Ray Proclaims in His New Video
Country music songwriter and singer Michael Ray has released the video to his new single "Real Men Love Jesus." The song is a breather from the bro-country songs at country radio. "Real Men Love Jesus" speaks of the importance of Jesus, family values, and the things that last.
Already at #39 on the Billboard Country Songs chart, "Real Man" was written by Lance Miller, Brad and Brett Warren and Adam Sanders. The song was first released to radio on September 14, 2015, the second single from Ray's major-label debut album.
Ray has recently debuted the song's music video. The video is dedicated to Amos "Papa" Roach, Ray's grandfather, who was a musician in his own right and a huge influence on Ray. "My grandfather was such a stickler on the history of country music. He loved it!" Ray tells ABC News Radio. "Growing up around him, like that was our kind of a bonding thing ..."
"I wanted to put a song on there for the guy that gets overlooked - the guy that's working all week and has a few beers on the weekend but is just trying to do right, keep his head down and raise a family," the singer continues. "Those are the guys who raised me. That's my dad, that's me, that's my grandpa - the men who were in my life."
Here are the lyrics of to the song:
Real men love fishin'
Fast cars and livin'
Out on the edge so far
They're gonna need forgivin'
Real men like football
Cowboys and outlaws
Can't help but fly so high
It's gonna hurt to fall
They like Saturday nights out on the town
Sunday morning coming down
A pretty girl out on the dance floor spinnin'
Round and round and round they go
Cold beer and a dirty hand
Calling home every chance they can
To say I love you
They don't need a reason
Real men love Jesus
And they love mama
If they can get more than forty hours
You know they gonna
They give it hell till they get it right
The kind every country girl's tryin' to find
Every girl's daddy's kinda guy
Ain't scared to pray, ain't scared to fight
They like Saturday nights out on the town
Sunday morning coming down
A pretty girl out on the dance floor spinnin'
Round and round and round they go
Cold beer and a dirty hand
Calling home every chance they can
To say I love you
They don't need a reason
Real men love Jesus
Real men love Jesus
They don't believe in leavin'
When the goin' gets tough
They just keep on keepin'
They like Saturday nights out on the town
Sunday morning coming down
A pretty girl out on the dance floor spinnin'
Round and round and round they go
Cold beer and a dirty hand
Calling home every chance they can
To say I love you
They don't need a reason
Real men love Jesus
