Lauren Daigle Responds to Her Grammy Nomination
Lauren Daigle's single "First" is not only a Top 10 Christian hit, but she's also the receipent of her first Grammy Awards nomination. Daigle was nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for her "How Can It Be" project.
"When I was a child, I was enamored by the Grammy Awards," says Daigle, "as I would jump up and down for exciting performances and fall out on the floor for the ones that took my breath away. I would throw Grammy watching parties with my friends, dreaming of the possibilities of one day seeing it live and the potential of ever being nominated. I look back on these quirks and realize that it was God who was building a dream the entire time. He was crafting my heart way back then for the places He was taking me. Moments like these point toward the tangible faithfulness of the Father. I'm ecstatic about this honor and so immensely thankful to everyone who voted."
"What an absolute honor to have Lauren nominated for a Grammy," adds Steve Ford, General Manager, Centricity Music. "To have the NARAS members notice the hard work that Lauren has put in over the last year is amazing. Her team has worked so hard to tell Lauren's story, and to have our peers recognize that hard work is humbling. "
The Grammy nomination follows Daigle's triple win in October at the Dove Awards for New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year (both for "How Can it Be") plus the K-LOVE Awards Worship Song of the Year ("How Can It Be") in June. This year also brought Daigle a No. 1 album (How Can It Be) on Billboard's Top Christian Albums Chart, and remains in the Top 5 on iTunes Christian Albums Chart.
Her second single, "First," became a 3-week No. 1 single on Billboard's National Audience Chart (NCA). At the same time, Daigle has reached over 35 million views for her videos on YouTube and Vevo, which makes 2015 a remarkable year for this talented young lady.Daigle is getting great exposure live as she just wrapped up Casting Crown's Thrive Tour and is featured on Chris Tomlin's Adore Christmas Tour through December. She also recorded the Christmas classic, "Noel," that is featured on Tomlin's No.1 album on Billboard's Holiday Albums Chart, Adore: Christmas Songs of Worship, along with a performance video that debuted on FOXNews.com.Up next for Daigle will be the highly popular Winter Jam 2016 Tour Spectacular that also features for King & Country, Matthew West, Sidewalk Prophets and Crowder.
