Angelo and Veronica Petrucci Receive Doctorate Degrees
Angelo and Veronica Petrucci have been awarded honorary Doctorate degrees of Sacred Music by ICW Bible College & Seminary (ICW) for their contributions in the Christian Music industry and service in ministering to the Body of Christ for over two decades. Angelo and Veronica both studied at Berklee College Music in Boston, MA. The highly skilled husband and wife duo have recorded seven albums together including a Spanish Language album. Their album debut, Higher Place, in 1992 garnered critical acclaim including the attention of legendary pop songwriter, Diane Warren. Angelo and Veronica penned the song, "God Knows"which charted in the top 15 on the Contemporary Christian charts. They went on to receive three Dove Awards including Contemporary Black Gospel Song of the Year and Urban Album of the Year. They have made numerous television appearances on Fox 17, TBN, TCT, Word Network and BET. In 2009, Angelo and Veronica were both ordained Worship Pastors. That same year, they performed at the "Celebration of Change" Inaugural Concert at Constitution Hall in Washington, DC.
Veronica Petrucci has founded the ministry, A Voice For Women, whose vision is to change the way women and girls feel about themselves one voice at a time. Veronica co-wrote the no. 1 song, "Your Love is 4 Always" for Christian radio. She also wrote "Dare to Dream" that was selected for the 2006 Special Olympics. She has recorded solo albums, Atrévete a Soñar (Spanish Language album) and Made It Out Alive featuring guests Fred Hammond, John P. Kee, Mississippi Mass Choir, Shirley Murdock, Canton Jones and Brian Courtney Wilson on their label, Latin Soul Entertainment. This album includes the song, "Hope Saved My Life" for the movie, Unconditional. She became the recipient of The Atlanta Gospel Choice Award for Best Female Artist of 2013. She has made her acting debut in the film, But Deliver Us From Evil starring Pooch Hall, Eric Roberts, Grant Harvey and Thorsten Kaye coming to theaters this October. She is currently working on her testimony in book form, How I Made It Out Alive.
Angelo and Veronica reply: "The honorary doctorate is an unexpected surprise and an extreme honor. The irony is, we both feel that there is much we still need to fulfill in ministry and accomplish in music. We hope this degree will help us to get closer to this goal. Our next step is to plant Higher Place Church in Franklin, TN."
