Darlene Zschech Back to Leading Worship in Singapore After Her Bout with Cancer
After her bout with breast cancer 11 months ago, Hillsong Worship's matriarch Darlene Zschech took some time off ministry outside her home church. With God's healing and the support of her church members and her husband Mark, Darlene Zschech is back ministering to the church at large again. This weekend, Zschech will be heading for Singapore where she will be ministering at New Creations Church, the megachurch where popular author and preacher Joseph Prince serves as Senior Pastor.
Writing on Twitter, Darlene Zschech expresses her joy and gratitude: "Today is a huge day for me.1st time ministering outside of our church since cancer diagnosis 11 months ago. God is faithful. Amen #NewDay "
At New Creations Church, Darlene Zschech will be leading worship at most of the Singaporean church's major services.
However, during her cancer treatment, Zschech has not been inactive. She has recently contributed a brand new self-composed song "My Highest Hope" to the soundtrack "Before Amen: A Worship Collection" to Max Lucado's book. On this worship ballad, Zschech empties her soul in complete trust in God when she sings "I trust you with my life/Lord over every fear/Your love is holding me."
Darlene Zschech has been fronting the music of Hillsong Worship since its early days. Responsible in part for pushing the music of the Australian church to an international level, Zschech is responsible for writing songs such as "Shout to the Lord," "Cry of the Broken," "Blessed,""Potter's Hand," "Worthy is the Lamb" and many others. She has also been at the front line leading the live worship albums of the church for many years. Recently, Darlene Zschech has had released her debut solo worship project "Revealing Jesus," which also features contributions from Israel Houghton, Kari Jobe, Miriam Webster, and Michael W. Smith.
Zschech is also planning a follow-up worship album for release next year.
