'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Recap and Spoilers: Someone Dies, Someone Reappears
The epic premiere episode of the hit horror-drama series "The Walking Dead" recently returned on October 12, on the AMC network.
Previously, Rick and company hit the road to Washington D.C., and Rick, Daryl and Tyreese discussed their past. Rick expressed an established resentment of Carol in the face of what she had done during the annihilation of Terminus. The travelling group then found Reverend Gabriel on top of a rock surrounded by walkers. He was trying to kick them since he did not have any weapons.
After the group rescued Gabriel from the walkers, he informed them that he only needs God as his weapon, in addition to informing the group that he has a church. The group then walked to the church and found out that it was safe. However, Rick believes that Gabriel is hiding something from them. Daryl then became familiar with the car that Beth took away, while he and Carol were carrying bottles of water—they followed the car in the hope of finding Beth.
Gabriel saw someone who looked familiar at the food bank, while they were fighting a number of walkers. He runs away through the water and then struggles to the edge. Bob was pulled by a walker into the water, with no clue if he was bitten, but Sasha killed the walker.
That night, the group went back to the church, where Rick thanked Gabriel for his hospitality. He told Gabriel that he knew that he was hiding something, but also said that they're now his family. That night, Bob was kidnapped by Gareth—Gareth explained that they had to become hunters.
TV Line reported that Bob informed Gareth that he had been bitten, while laughing. Later, Gareth bought Bob back to the church, where Bob informed the group about what had happened to him. The group finds out that Daryl and Carol are missing. Meanwhile, Bob had been infected and refused to have medical treatment. Daryl then showed up and Michonne asked him if he knew of Carol's location. Daryl claimed that Carol was behind him, but whoever was behind him was not visible.
Beth had been missing since the last episode of the fourth season. She was taken away in a mysterious car to an unknown location. International Business Times revealed that Beth eventually settled with another group of survivors who have "a bit of a dark side." But it is still uncertain if this group is worse than Team Gareth.
Spoilers have been revealed in Celebdirtylaundry. In episode 4, Beth appears to be trapped in a medical facility in downtown Atlanta, where there is also a doctor and a police officer—Beth tries to escape. It appears that episode 5 focuses upon Glenn, Maggie, Rosita, Eugene and Abraham, while the sixth episode will probably center on Carol and Daryl, before they get separated during their search for Beth.
What will happen to the characters? Watch "The Walking Dead" Season 5 at 9 p.m. on AMC Network to find out.
