'X-Men: Days Of Future Past' Grosses $746 Million Worldwide
The superhero film "X-Men: Days of Future Past" was released last May 23, 2014 in theaters and cinemas. As of Oct. 2014, the movie has grossed an estimated total of $746 million, combining the estimated domestic gross of $233 million and the estimated foreign gross of $512 million.
"X-men: Days of Future Past" is a superhero film, which is based on the fictional X-Men characters that appear in Marvel Comics.
The movie stars Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine, James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier/ Professor X, Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr/ Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkholme/ Mystique, Halle Berry as Ororo Munroe/ Storm, Nicholas Hoult and Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy/ Beast, Anna Paquin as Marie/ Rogue, Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde/ Shadowcat, Shawn Ashmore as Bobby Drake/ Iceman, Peter Dinklage as Bolivaer Trask, Omar Sy as Bishop, Evan Peters as Peter Maximoff/ Quicksilver, Daniel Cudmore as Peter Rasputin/ Colossus, Fan Bingbing as Clarice Ferguson/ Blink, Booboo Stewart as James Prodstar/ Warpath, and Josh Helman as William Stryker.
Lucas Till reprises his role as Alex Summers/ Havok and Evan Jonigkeit portrays Toad. Additionally, Famke Janssen and James Marsden reprise their roles as Jean Gray and Scott Summers/ Cyclops.
According to Comicbook, the Brotherhood was not featured in the film, since they were not vital to the storyline. They initiate the superhero combat scenes in the comics as well. Kitty Pryde travels back in time from the future and helps the X-Men is stopping her future from coming.
The movie in its Blu-ray version has a visually impressive sequence, from the opening combat to the finale, as per Forbes. The shared Blu-ray and DVD sales for the franchise totaled somewhere in the $100 million range.
The film suggests that future is not engraved in stone and it can be changed. Cinema Blend says that the primary objective of the film is pass away again and again. While the "good outweighs the bad", the installment managed to fix the path of the mutant in that franchise.
"X-men: Days of Future Past" is piloted and produced by Bryan Singer, with Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, and Hutch Parker as co-producers. Simon Kinberg also contributed in the screenplay while Newton Thomas Sigel in cinematography.
The filming is set in the Olympic stadium, Montreal City Hall, and McGill University as filming locaions. Principal photography started on Apr. 13, 2013 at Mel's Cite du Cinema in Montreal, Canada, and concluded on Aug. 17, 2013.
The film is produced under 20th Century Fox, Marvel Entertainment, Bad Hat Harry Productions, The Donners' Company, and TSG Entertainment while it is distributed by 20th Century Fox.
