Samsung has ruled the market for the past decade with its series of smartphones, most of them working on the android platform. Samsung has made way for a significant number of phones to provide users a wide range of devices to choose from.
The Galaxy family offers a brilliant range of smartphones, including the Mega and Note. The second version of both Mega and Note has entered the market.
The Mega 2 has a physical weight of approximately 194g, with a 6.0 inches capacitive touch screen while the Note 2 weighs approximately around of 183g, with a 5.5 inches multi-touch screen.
The Mega 2 is based on Android 4.4 KitKat platform with a Quad core 1.5GHz processor and Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset. This is a brilliant combination for any smart phone and would execute tedious tasks with ease. This would support high level of graphics, as it is equipped with a Adreno 306 graphic processor.
The Note 2, which is considered to be a business phab-let, works on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform although it is upgradable to Android 4.4 KitKat. The Note 2 is equipped with a 1.6GHz Quad-core processor.
According to NDTV Gadgets, the Mega 2 comes with a 8MP primary camera, 2.1MP secondary camera with LED flash, autofocus. On the other hand, Note 2 comes with a 8MP primary camera and 1.9MP secondary camera with LED flash. The camera clarity offered by both the phones is quite reasonable. However, the Mega 2 provides more number of options such a panorama, geo-tagging. The high quality imaging would help the user to scan documents with more clarity, capture high definition images and HD recording.
Both phones offer features such as Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-fi hotspot, microUSB v2.0 and so on. The Galaxy Note 2 is powered by a Li-Ion 3100 mAh battery, while the Mega 2 is powered by a 2800 mAh non-removable battery.
According to GSM Arena, the Mega 2 is priced at approximately $431 while the Note 2 is priced at approximately $380. Looking at all the features and the prices of the phones, the Galaxy Note 2 would be a better choice. The Note 2 would be a more handy and a powerful gadget.
