Neil Patrick Harris Host of the 2015 Oscars: Legend, Wait for it, Dary! Oscar's Gonna be Awesome
How I Met Your Mother star, Neil Patrick Harris, will be hosting the 2015 Oscars.
In Fox News, "To be asked to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, and everyone else who had the great fortune of hosting is a bucket list dream come true," said Neil Patrick Harris in a statement published from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Neil Patrick Harris made a video and uploaded it to his Twitter account. The video featured Neil Patrick Harris talks on the phone saying that he's in and then circling an item in his bucket list which read "host the Oscars".
The co-producer of the Academy Awards, Neil Meron, has also verified NPH's casting also on Twitter.
The 41 year old actor and Broadway star recently hosted the TV's Primetime Emmy Awards and Broadway's Tony Awards.
As said in Pink News, Neil Patrick Harris will follow after Ellen DeGeneres' steps as the previous gay Oscar host.
Also, the Oscars Night Before party, a tradition before the awarding night, will be relocating their venue to boycott the Beverly Hills Hotel. The said Brunei-owned hotel recently imposed a policy that wants homosexuals to be thrown stones at until death.
The star has also recently released his own book titled "Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography" and also starred in the recent top rated movie "Gone Girl" with Ben Affleck.
The popular and fan favorite television series "How I Met Your Mother" also recently ended where he played the role of Barney, a womanizer. He also received a Tony Award for his Broadway role in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch".
His hosting stints are known for being very entertaining and witty. His opening act for the 2011 Tony Awards featured a song number titled "It's Not Just For Gays Anymore".
However, being an Oscars host can be very risky. During the 2013 Oscars, Seth MacFarlane opened with a song titled "We Saw Your Boobs" which have caused complaints and protests all over the world, stated in The Guardian.
Neil Meron and Craig Zadan hopes that NPH will bring the same family friendly and high quality entertainment when he hosts The Oscars on Feb. 22 next year.
