Bloodborne News, Reveals and Updates: Game Director Miyazaki Reveals Game to Only be Available for PlayStation 4 Next Year
According to recent reports of the game and atmosphere, Bloodborne is only going to be released for PlayStation platforms next year. the decision is due to the theory that to create a realistic atmosphere of the era keep the high quality graphics, only the PS4 would be suitable. The developers thus concluded the PS4 would be most suitable, which is an obvious slight to PC and X Box One both of which are also going to house several next generation games. this could also have something to do with the fact that Japanese developers are oriented toward PlayStation more than they are other platforms even when it comes to media advertising.
Game Director, Hidetaka Miyazaki told PlayStation LifeStyle in an interview, "I always wanted to make a game set in the Victorian era, but to make it look good-with all the clothing and the architecture and things, required a console more powerful than the ones that were around. The arrival of the PS4 finally gave us that."
As such, it is clear that the director believes the upcoming game is not a cross-generation installment, but one which will be released only for PlayStation 4. At the moment, he has not yet given an explanation why X Box One and PC modes were snubbed even though they would have probably provided a suitable release package. Apparently the game from 'From Software' is said to be the killer app for PS4 next year. From Software signed an exclusive deal with Sony for it but the question here is why they approached Sony for the deal in the first place and not X box One or better yet, Microsoft. Miyazaki says the amazing graphics and architecture present on the game would only be fully exploited by the platform, but I believe there is a certain bias for PlayStation in the Japanese market whereby it is favored by developers above X Box One or PC. Bloodborne is set to release on February 6th in Europe and America but will be available in Japan a day earlier, of course.
