Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 and Yoga Tablet 2 Pro Review: Tablet of Their Kind - All You Need to Know
Lenovo has announced a new generation of its Yoga Tablet series, the Yoga Tablet 2 and the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro, from its previous generation announced last year. The Yoga Tablet 2 series are tablets that are convertible - meaning they can be used as a tablet and a laptop, by using a keyboard attachment. This year, Lenovo introduced a fairly vast line-up of their current-gen devices.
Their entry-level device Yoga Tablet 2 comes with a quad-core Intel Atom processor, a 1,900 x 1,200 pixel resolution, and features four modes - the Hold, Tilt, Stand, and the new Hang mode, in which you can hang the tablet like a picture frame. GSMArena reports that the entry-level tablets are running Android KitKat, and has 16GB of storage, expandable up to 64 GB. Plus, you can attach a USB On-The-Go for plugging in more devices like external USB flash drives. The Yoga Tablet 2 is available in two variants: an 8-inch and a 10-inch model, and costs €230 / $250 and €300 / $300, respectively. The 10-inch model will come with LTE support, albeit available only in some countries.
In the other side of the spectrum, the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro also has the same Intel Atom processor and Android KitKat as its little brothers have, but as Mashable says, it features a massive 13.3-inch screen, and is one of the very few smart devices that feature a projector. Yes, a projector that can display up to 50 inches of 16:9-ratio screen to a wall. Also, Engadget reports that it features dual 1.5-watt speakers and a 5-watt subwoofer; quite a good matchup for the large home-theater-like screen. It has 32GB of storage, double of that the Yoga Tablet 2 offers, and also compatible with USB OTG for extra functionality.
Yahoo! Tech mentions that the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro will be sold for $499, and all of the tablets will go on sale this holiday season. Apart from the Android versions, Lenovo will be also releasing Windows 8.1 versions of the tablets, and the 10-inch Yoga 2 with a bundled keyboard will cost $399. The Windows versions will also come with a free one-year subscription of Microsoft's Office 365 Productivity Suite, which is a big plus.
