"Bad Judge" Season 1, Premiere, News, Updates, Pilot, Review: Judge Rebecca Wright shines in the show
In spite of all the production problems, 'Bad Judge' has come to hit small screens for its pilot episode to air at 9 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 2, on NBC. It finally meets its filming stage, which fans of "Private Practice" and "Grey's Anatomy" are searching for Addison Shepherd in Walsh's "Bad Judge" new comedy, they won't find her all for the show's saving grace. Executive producers Adam McKay and Will Ferrell of "Bad Judge," follow Walsh (Judge Rebecca Wright) as she judges all day and parties all night. Actually, her personal life have been a mess, but totally not a mess in the courtroom.
As Walsh admits, people know her from a big screen drama, however audiences will be able to see a new side of her as they tune in. In this series, Walsh embraces her character. But, the pilot episode is seemingly a bit of confusion as to whether or not Wright is a savior of the loser with a golden heart or a pathetic mess. In the points of the case, Wright feels ethically responsible for a provisionally orphaned young boy after sending his parents to prison for offenses. Granting that Wright's communications with the boy are extremely humorous, still, you will see how the situation connects with cliches. Somehow, it resembles similarly with "Bad Santa" and "Bad Teacher" -- where unalterable characters find colors in their uncolored hearts through kinship.
Fortunately, it seems as if the kid is only a device for the first episode. The best friendship relationship of Wright with bailiff Tedward became a potential gold mine and her passionate mess with Gary is nice to watch for -- although the show has made itself a favor through preventing a complete romantic storyline, it has its own the be-alls and end-alls which is something to get excited about.
The Verdict
It is important to observe how Walsh acts because her personality has still lots of rooms for improvement. Also, get ready to see some preparedness of reality suspension and be settled in for mindless comedy. This show is a great ride for Walsh in order to showcase her comedic scenes and present the other side as a TV actress.
