Ben Hur Movie Release Date, Reveals, Rumors, News, Plot and Updates: Movie to make a Comeback Release in 2016
This epic movie shall be making a comeback in the year 2016. Based on the novel Ben-Hur; A story of Christ the movie has come to the theater twice before in 1925 and the more popular version that was released in 1959. The novel was one of the most popular novels of its time surpassed only by Gone with the Wind which was also made into a wildly successful movie. In April of 2014 MGM announced that they would be taking another stab at the movie. Ben-Hur which is a classic shall now get a chance to recreate itself as a modern classic.
The story follows a Jewish Prince and merchant Judah Ben-Hur who lives in the same time as Jesus. As a child Judah is friends with a boy who returns as a tribune after a while away. The two friends now believe in totally different things with Judah focusing on his religion and Messala believing in the awesomeness of the Roman Empire. While on parade in the city a loose tile from Judah's house falls on the governors head and knocks him off his horse. Despite Messala knowing that it is an accident he throws Judah's family into prison and sells him off to slavery where he first meets Christ. Judah works through this rising in ranks till he is finally able to return to his home Jerusalem where he competes against Messala in a chariot race. This Chariot race becomes one of films most epic scenes. Messala dies but directs Judah to where his family currently resides which is the valley of the lepers. In subsequent occurrences Ben-Hur witnesses the crucifixion and converts to Christianity, his family is healed in the rainstorm that follows Jesus' nailing to the cross and Ben abandons his plans for revenge.
Hollywood has recently taken to producing several faith based movies. Ben Hur shall be joining this list of Christian movies among Noah and Son of God. Mark Burnett and Roma Downey who produced The Bible and Son of God are coming on board this remake with Morgan Freeman being the only confirmed cast member. The part of Ben Hur that was made famous by Charleston Heston has not yet been cast but those are massive shoes to fill. Paramount shall be joining MGM this time to make sure the movie makes it in time for its February 26th 2016 release date.
