Chelsea Clinton Gives Birth To Her First Child, Shares Photo

Chelsea and Marc are now proud parents. And they cannot contain their happiness. Chelsea Clinton posted a message that reads, "Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky."

At exactly 7:03 PM on September 26, Clinton's first child was born in New York. The couple wanted the gender of the baby to be a surprise. In an interview with CNN, Chelsea said, "There are so few mysteries in life in which any answer is a happy one." The couple announced that they are expecting their first child last April of this year.

The Clintons' happily welcomed Charlotte into the family. Chelsea is an only child which makes Charlotte the first grandchild of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The proud grandparents released the following statement, "We are thrilled to be with our daughter and her husband as they welcome their daughter into the world. Chelsea is well and glowing. Marc is bursting with pride. Charlotte's life is off to a good start." 

The couple got married last 2010 and since then, after they got married, the pressure is on for the couple to have their first child. Hillary is not ashamed to publicly appeal to the couple that she would like to become a grandmother soon. In an interview in April 2012, Hillary said, "I would like to have that title. I think I'd be pretty good."

Could being a grandmother affect Hillary's political career. Hillary is one of the frontrunner in the 2016 presidential election. Bill Clinton said in an interview last year that he thinks Hillary would choose being a grandmother over being a presidential candidate but mentioned that "it was best not to discuss the issue."

Chelsea also showed her interest in starting a family last year, even declaring year 2014 as "Year of the Baby." Becoming a grandparent softened Hillary. She said that she's excited and happy about being a grandmother.
