Which tablet device is the ideal choice for consumers? Let us see if we can help you to choose one out of the best 7-inch Tablets (Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, Google Nexus 7, Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 and LG Gpad 7.0) We pit the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 vs Google Nexus 7 vs Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 vs LG Gpad 7.0 to see which one is better.
In terms of design and display, the Nexus 7 is equipped with an IPS LCD display that is LED backlit and that measure 7 inches, which renders a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density has 323ppi. The display also has multi touch capabilities. While Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 has 7 inch screen with 1200 x 1920 pixels, 323 ppi, IPS LCD and LG Gpad 7.0 has screen of 1920 x 1200 pixels and 273 ppi ,IPS LCD. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 also has an IPS LCD model of display that measures 7 inches and the pixel density is only 219ppi.
For the hardware, battery and camera specs, the Nexus 7 has a Krait processor working at 1.5 GHz paired up with the Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset from Qualcomm, which guarantees a smooth performance. It also has 1.5 GB of RAM backing up the processor. The operating system the tablet runs on is Android Jelly Bean, which you can upgrade to Android KitKat. As for battery, the unit is non removable but holds a very impressive capacity of 3950 mAh. Unfortunately, the Google Nexus 7 tablet does not have a SIM card slot, which means that GPRS and EDGE services are not available.
Whereas, The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has a quad core working at 1.2 GHz backed up by 1.5 GB of RAM. As for internal memory, it offers two options: 8 GB and 16 GB. The only downside of the tablet is the missing microSD card slot, which the Google and Asus tablet has. It runs on on the Android KitKat and the battery unit has a larger capacity, and a longer battery life. The Nexus 7 16 GB (internal memory) version cost around $210.00, while the Samsung's Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 16 GB version is at $237.99.
That bigger screen involves a bit of tradeoff though - the resolution stays the same and hence the pixel density drops with the size increase. That's actually true for the entire lineup. The G Pad series goes all the way to 10.1" but the resolution and processing power don't follow. That probably puts LG's 7-incher at the best position to compete. And there's little doubt about who it's going to mostly compete with. If you're shopping for an affordable compact tablet and the Nexus line is hard to get, the G Pad 7.0 and the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 are some of the most obvious choices. Samsung is in its fourth generation now, while LG took a break from the tablet game.
