The Walking Dead Season 5 Cast, Spoilers, Release Date And Gareth Updates: Steven Yeun Gives Some Insight On How His Character As Gleen Has Transitioned And Who He Is Now
We have the latest for you on the cast, spoilers, release date and Gareth updates of The Walking Dead season 5. The Walking Dead season 5 is set to return on screens and fans are eagerly waiting to see what the new season has in store as it takes us back to the city of zombies. The main focus is not only on the premiere but the media has taken an interest to the cast crew too. One such character is Glenn Rhee. He was introduced to us in season 1 as a scrappy kid who talked Rick out of the tank. Things are all different and he has changed greatly.
Now he is all buffed up, he has also been used by the directors to show a big love story that had its ups and downs unlike before where he was only involved in solo acts. In an interview Steve Yeun who plays Glenn was asked to explain about his new look and the changes his character has under gone since the start of the series, The Walking Dead season 1.
"We first met him as the plucky kid who's kind of down to do anything," Yeun said as he was on a break during a recent EW cover shoot, "but wasn't really watching out for himself. I think this apocalypse has made him into someone that is reaching his true potential, whereas society might not have let him get there. He's really getting to know what he's made of. He has proved his worth quite a bit. At this point we also see him very hardened. Even though he does seek humanity, he does seek hopefulness, there is a semblance of understanding the world that he lives in which is very brutal and I think it's this struggle that he kind of wars with in his own mind which is, which way do you go? And I think he's still growing in that respect. But he's definitely probably the man he never dreamed he could be at this point," he added.
In regards to the upcoming season, Walking Dead season 5, Yuen explained that Glenn's mental health is at stake as he faces being eaten by his captures at terminus (Zombies). "He set out on a quest that was pretty much against all odds and he comes out on top, He found his Wife. And I think for him that's something that's solidified a sense of humanity in him, a sense of hopefulness in him that continues to persevere even though he continues to face some terrible things," Yeun explained.
