'The Flash' Latest News: 'You're Not a Hero, You're Just A Kid Struck By Lightning'- Exciting Trailer, Arrow Crossover, Casts and other Updates
Watching the The Flash trailer gave me chills. Maybe it's because I saw someone familiar. I actually watched that specific episode in Arrow when Barry was "accidentally" struck by lightning. I was never able to understand the relevance of that episode until now. The Flash video clip also showed Oliver Queen dressed as the Arrow giving Barry some advice. Before Queen jumps of the building, he said to Barry, "Take your own advice, wear a mask." It was Barry's idea to fit "The Arrow" with a mask. She was Felicity's friend and just like Felicity, Barry is a tech genius.
It was confirmed that we can indeed expect a cross over between Arrow and The Flash. Oliver Queen is going to appear in the pilot episode and it was rumored that even Felicity's character is going to make an appearance in at least four episodes. It is going to be exciting to see how the two series, Arrow and The Flash, co-exist. The two shows is in pure contrast to each other. The Arrow gives this "dark and traditional" vibes whereas The Flash has this "light and younger" appeal. Queen has no super power and he has to trust his instincts and training, while Allen has his "speed." It's intriguing and I just can't wait to see how they will fight side by side.
The Flash will show Barry after he comes out of coma. He was in a coma for nine months at least. It will also explore Barry's childhood. His mother was killed and his father took the blame. Being an orphaned at such an early age affected Barry's life. Barry was raised by Detective Joe West and is now a "brilliant, driven, and endearingly geeky CSI investigator"
Grant Gustin is going to play the role of The Flash in the series, while Jesse L Martin as Detective West, Barry's surrogate father. Danielle Panabaker will play the role of Caitlin Snow, the show's resident scientist. Candace Patton is cast as Iris West, Barry's best friend and daughter of Detective West.
There are many guest stars set to appear on The Flash, Prison Break stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell will appear on the show as Captain Cold and Heat Wave. These two characters will unite to take on The Flash, later in the season. What a nice reunion for Miller and Purcell.
The Flash release date is on October 7.
