'Awkward': One of MTV's Series Turning 4th Season Soon, Know its Latest News and Updates
Awkward is an American Teen Situation Comedy television series created by Lauren Iungerich. It is being produced by MTV Production Development in association with Remote Productions, Mosquito Productions and Crazy Cat Lady Productions in the United States.
It was first premiered on July 19, 2011 and recently renewed for a 4th season that premiered on April 15, 2014, adding and replacing new show runners to the former creator of the series, who was announced to be leaving after Season 3.
The new show runners are Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler.
The story of the series focuses on the main fictional character named Jenna Hamilton, who is also the narrator, portrayed by the actress Ashley Rickards.
In the beginnings of the series, Jenna was a teenage girl who just met the boy of her dreams one day, or as she thought she did, during summer camp.
One day, she receives a letter from an unknown person who began criticizing her and calling her names. While in an attempt to get rid of the letter, she accidently falls and breaks her arm in the bathroom. From there, news spread quickly about the accident but causing everyone to think it was a suicide attempt. This mistake, as it was said, caused Jenna's popularity to grow in school.
Later on, she finds out about the identity of the anonymous writer of the letter.
Other characters in the show include, Beau Mirchoff as Matthew McKibben nicknamed "Matty", Nikki DeLoach as Lacey Hamilton who is the mother of Jenna, Jillian Rose Reed as Tamara Kaplan nicknamed "T" and Brett Davern as Jake Rosat.
The teen sitcom received several awards including, a Teen Choice Award and a People's Choice Award.
It just recently premiered on April 15, 2014 returning for the 4th season! The second half of the 4th season will begin airing on September 23, 2014!
