Prince Album Release: Two New Songs from Two Different Albums for Two New Projects
Prince once said that "the internet's completely over". He sure is getting good at exercising the immediate impact and endless promotional capabilities of the web.
At the end of the month, fans of Prince will expect an album and the long awaited 3rd Eye Girl project. Last September 1, the singer already scored two new singles titled 'U Know' (from his upcoming solo album Art Official Age) and 'Whitecaps' (from Plectrumelectrum, his project with 3rd Eye Girl). These two new songs had Prince returned to his previous materials, but unfortunately does not match his 1980's output.
For the past couple of years, fans of Prince had been exposed to the goofy-ode 'Breakfast can Wait' and the Zooey Deschanel duet 'FALLINLOVE2NITE' plus the all-too-short contemplative story of 'The Breakdown'.
Last week, fans got a glimpse on his collaboration with current muse Lianne La Havas with 'Clouds' - which came from his forthcoming solo album, Art Official Age - a sexy serenade describing the power of small acts of affection, with a somewhat debatable flower metaphor.
Despite the bitter 18 year split from Warner Brothers, Prince has reconciled with the company and sources say that the deal was for Prince to get rights to his catalog as well as the promise of a 20th anniversary re-release of Purple Rain. This sweet partnership had led Prince to waste no time to supply great materials to his old label.
'Art Official Age' will be the singer's 34th album while 'Plectrumelectrum', will be his band, 3rd Eye Girl's first album.
Prince album release will be on September 29.
