Fallout 4 release date, latest news plus other interesting info: Fallout 4 for PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 still being worked on, no definite release date announced

"Fallout" geeks, wait a little longer. Fallout 4 release date for PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 is indefinite as of the moment.

Creator Bethesda has confirmed in interviews that "Fallout 4" development is still ongoing, but has assured avid gamers that this will be their "biggest and best work yet."

"Parts of our team have also been in pre-production on our next major project, and that game is at the point where it requires the studio's full attention," the company has said in an interview.

Conceptualized and developed in 1997, "Fallout" is an open world role-playing video game. "Fallout" is set in a post-apocalyptic world, after a global nuclear war destroyed the planet as we know it. The objective is for the main character to, a resident of a shelter known as Vaults, to find the Water Chip and save other dwellers from drought.

"Fallout" has been well-received by avid gamers, inspiring a sequels and spin-off games.

It has been six years since the release of its last installment, "Fallout 3". Fans had expected "Fallout 4" to come out at the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo, but it was unfortunately a no-show.

Industry insiders speculate that the "Fallout 4" would probably make an appearance in either of these two events:  the Tokyo Game Show happening this September 2014 in Mihama-ku, Chiba, or Gamescon 2014 in Germany, where Bethseda is one of the exhibitors. These remain to be seen.  

But one thing is for sure: "Fallout 4" will have new elements.

"Something certainly new will be introduced once the new game comes out... definitely a new character," said Bethseda.
