Johnny Depp and Kevin Smith Team-Up to Film New 'Comic Book' Movie with Their Daughters
Actor writer director Kevin Smith is wall-known to many as the mastermind behind the films like Mallrats, Clerks, Clerks II, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and most recently the upcoming film Tusk, which will premiere on September 19.
News broke two days ago that he'll be working on a new film along with Hollywood A-list celebrity Johnny Depp starting this week titled, Yoga Hosers. It will star Johnny Depp, his daughter Lily-Rose Depp and Smith's daughter Harley Quinn Smith. The follow-up to Tusk is the second installment to Smith's True North Trilogy that are based off of Canadian myths and culture.
Also, the entire cast of Tusk has been confirmed to return for the new film which includes Justin Long, Michael parks, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman, and YouTube star Harley Morenstein. Newcomers to the cast include Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Austin Butler, Adam Brody, Tyler Posey, and Jason Mewes.
Yoga Hosers, which is written by Kevin Smith, is about two 15-year old yoga enthusiasts Colleen Collette (Lilly-Rose Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley Quinn Smith) who joins forces with man-hunter Guy Lapointe (Johnny Depp) to survive and fight the evil forces rising from Canada's land.
Smith has been known for writing comic books for both Marvel and DC, and once written a script for a cancelled Superman movie back in the 90s'. Fans of his have always wondered when he'll make a comic book movie, and now it seems like this will be his first entry into the genre, albeit in a not so traditional way.
