We have the latest info for you on the release date and plot for Avatar 2.The fans of  the "Avatar" movie are bound to be excited with the ongoing rumors that Avatar 2 will be released in 2016. The third and fourth movie of Avatar will be released in the years to come.

James Cameron, the director of Avatar, has said, "The first film...took almost four years to make. We expected to be able to accelerate the process quite a bit, because we've improved a lot of the software and the computer graphics tools, and we've been working very closely with Weta Digital down here in New Zealand developing a whole new suite of tools to speed up the process." The director also confirmed that work on the new film is underway and that Avatar 2 is in its early stages as the production teams are already working on the scripts, design for characters, and confirming location and settings for the film.

Cameron also confirmed that fans of 'Avatar' should expect Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 to premiere each year following the first sequel, which is scheduled for December 2016. Reports say that each sequel will have its own storyline, but they will also fit perfectly into the bigger story arc. The cast will explore the other moons of Polyphemus and 'Avatar 2' will explore the Na'vi culture in more detail.

Zoe Saldana, the actress who plays Neytiri in the film is set to be cast in those sequels of Avatar and two other blockbuster films. She talked to Vulture and said, "It's the producers for every movie and my agents who have to plan it. I do know that Avatar is coming first. It's been the one in line for a while now, and we're just waiting for Jim to give us the green light to do so it can happen early next year. My backpack is ready!" Saldana will also be casting in 'Guardians of Galaxy' and 'Star Trek'. All these sound very good to the fans of 'Avatar' movie and all we have to do is wait and see how it goes.
