Indiana Jones 5 Release Date, Reveals and Spoilers: Spielberg will Come Back for the Next Installment
With his trusty whip and hat Indiana Jones could be coming back, considering Harrison Ford's age he may also be coming with a cane and nurse in tow. There is word that the wildly successful franchise may be looking to add another feather to their already packed hat. Disney haven't really been talking much about Indiana Jones coming back and the last time it was mentioned openly was at the 2008 Cannes film festival where Shia LaBeouf was hinted as the new Indiana. In early to mid 2014 rumors started flying of a fifth movie with actors like Bradley Cooper being rumored to be in their crosshairs to play the whip wielding action seeking archeologist. So do we have a date not as at now and considering Disney bought Lucas film and are working on Star Wars episode 7 with Mr. Ford a date might not be coming anytime soon.
Four movies is no mean feat for a franchise and considering all of them were successful making a sixth may not be a bad idea. George Lucas, the man who gave us Star Wars, sat down to write the first one in 1973 which was at that time was named Adventures of Indiana Smith of all things. In 1977 he met Spielberg while the two were vacationing after the successes of their movies; Lucas sold Spielberg on the idea of Indiana Jones and the rest, as they say, is history. The movies have made an impressive 1.9 Billion in the box office to date and a fifth installment could push that figure over to figures reminiscent of James Cameron.
All we know about the cast and crew is that Spielberg will most definitely coming back to his baby. Disney is currently caught up with Star Wars and all things Marvel but when things quiet down a bit we are sure dates and plots shall be released. Until then all we can do is speculate as to what might be coming and who will fill in the very large shoes that Mr. Ford has left behind.
