PlayStation 4 Slim Release Date: Gamers Await 2nd Generation of the PS4
It's no surprise that a video game console will have issues right off of launch, with advancing game technology comes advancing issues as well. The PlayStation 4 was plagued with both software and hardware issues when it was first made available to consumers back in November, which made some unfortunate gamers to either buy a new one or wait for a software update that could solve the problem before buying one in the first place.
One of the most common problems of the PlayStation 4 is the Blue Light where the light on the console's body will continuously pulse a blue light refusing to boot or output video to the TV screen. This issue has been addressed, and has been assessed as a hardware problem but the specific cause is yet to be made clear.
Problems with gaming consoles isn't a new issue. Back when the PlayStation 3 made its debut, gamers were confronted with the dreaded 'yellow light of death' which can be caused by numerous reasons, or could just be bad luck. Sony retaliated by announcing a second version of the PS3, the PlayStation 3 Slim, which not only gave it a thinner and sleeker look, but also improved upon dealing with hardware and software issues. Later, the PlayStation 3 Super Slim was announced and released as well.
Now with the PlayStation 4, gamers are eagerly awaiting an announcement of a 2nd generation version of the console, hoping for a PlayStation 4 Slim. Though sales have only gone up for Sony's PlayStation 4, there are still those who have opted to wait for an improved "slim version" that may, or may not come as of yet.
Rumors and speculations have now suggested that Sony might announce the PlayStation 4 Slim release date sometime in the coming months, and that it will officially make its debut next year at E3 on June 16, 2015 at Los Angeles, California. Though highly unlikely, gamers are hoping for an official announcement soon from Sony.
