Carnival Of Madness To Feature Skillet Among An Eclectic Group Of Other Rock Artists
The 2013 Carnival Of Madness tour line-up was revealed today to include Christian rock band, Skillet, alongside Shinedown, In This Moment, We As Human and Papa Roach.
The tour line-up features an interesting mixture of rock artists. Skillet is the only band in the grouping that is outwardly classified as Christian. However, there is question about the religious background behind bands like We As Human, Shinedown and In This Moment, based upon some of their lyrical content. Papa Roach, on the other hand, seems to be a more obviously alternative rock band with little to no question about any religious affiliation.
"It's an eclectic bill, something completely different from any other tour that's out there," Brent Smith, lead singer for Shinedown said, according to USA Today. "We're bringing the show of the summer to the United States of America."
Shinedown will headline the tour, which begins on August 11, according USA Today. The band returns to headline for the second time after they participated in the inaugural event in 2010.
"No one should think this is going to be the Carnival of Madness they have seen the three years prior. Everything is brand new," Smith told USA Today. He said that the first year they planned on having circus performers present, such as fire breathers and stilt walkers, but they had missed their opportunity. This year, however, they plan on having performers inside the pavilion as well as engaging the audience with high-tech equipment during the stage performances.
Smith plans to reveal more in-depth details about the festival in an online meet and greet, or 'Shindig,' this evening at 6 p.m. EST, according to loudwire.com.
After the line-up was revealed, We As Human tweeted, "Stoked to be joining Shinedown, Papa Roach, Skillet Music , and In This Moment for Carnival of Madness."
Details about the dates for the tour will be revealed on June 3, and a special Shinedown fan pre-sale begins on June 5, according to loudwire. General ticket sales for the Carnival of Madness begin on June 7.
