"Orange is the New Black" Season 3 is currently in production but cast star Taylor Schilling is in high demand for interview events as well. She recently was involved with a 'Times Talks' interview put on by The New York Times and hosted by NY Times reporter Patricia Cohen on July 24th.
Schilling was joined by three other female actresses for the 'Powerful Women of TV' session who are currently dominating the ratings in television and movies. Along with Shilling, it was Maggie Gyllenhaal, who stars in the new Sundance TV spy thriller, "The Honorable Woman"; Lucy Liu, who plays Watson on CBS's contemporary Sherlock Holmes update, "Elementary" and Mira Sorvino, appearing in the upcoming BBC paranormal drama series, "Intruders."
The extended interview session goes on for over an hour and a half. You can watch the full 'Powerful Women of TV' event HERE.
"Orange is the New Black" Season 3 is expected to release in June of 2015. This would follow their schedule to this point with all 13 episodes of Season 1 of the Netflix original series released on July 11, 2013 and Season 2 released in June 2014.
The show is based around Taylor Schilling, who plays Piper Chapman that gets sent to prison 10 years after she got caught up in transporting drug money across international lines. "Orange is the New Black" is made by 'Weeds' creator Jenji Kohan, and is based on Piper Kerman's memoir of a year spent in prison.
"Orange is the New Black" became the latest hit series for Netflix after a surprisingly huge reaction to its first season this summer. Netflix has hit the right formula lately with the hugely successful "House of Cards" Season 1 & 2 releasing to great reviews as well. "House of Cards" Season 2 released earlier in 2014. "Orange is the New Black" Season 1 raised eyebrows for it's controversial yet honest portrayal of prison life for women that is not been discussed much in popular culture especially through a series.
