Justin Warren's “See You Again” Looks Forward to Reunion With Friend Who Died While Serving in the Army
Raleigh, NC-based singer, songwriter and worship leader Justin Warren releases "See You Again," today (May 17) from Radiate Music. At all major digital and streaming outlets now via https://ffm.to/jwsya, the song shares a hopeful message following the death of a close friend.
Written with GRAMMY-nominated, two-time Dove Award-winning "Producer of the Year" Ian Eskelin (who also produced the track), Warren shares, "My best friend growing up was six years older than me. He really was like an older brother that I never had," remembers Warren. "We did everything together from going out to the beach to riding four wheelers. His name was Luke DeGroff, and, after he graduated high school, he joined the Army where he became a crew chief on a Black Hawk helicopter.
"It was my freshman year of high school when we got the call that, sadly, Luke and his crew were killed in a helicopter accident flying at night in Honduras," remembers Warren. "The news rocked my world and broke my heart. But I wrote this song because I know Luke knew Jesus as his Savior, and I do too. One glorious day I am going to see my best friend again in Heaven. I wrote 'See You Again' looking forward to our reunion."
"See You Again" Chorus:
But I'll see you again
When I reach that shore
Where death and pain
Are finally no more
And every tear I've cried
Since we've said goodbye
His healing hand will dry from my eye
I don't know when
But soon my friend
I'll see you again
Along with the studio recording, CCM Magazine features a live, CCM Café acoustic performance of "See You Again" today. CCM also premiered the God's Music Today No. 1 song "Come Back Home," as well as "My Heart Dances" and "Mile Marker 22," which spent four consecutive weeks at No. 1 on God's Music Today. Warren has further released the Moody Radio Network-premiered "For The Glory Of God" and his acclaimed Radiate Music debut "All Things Well."
Taking the new music and fan favorites on tour, Warren begins a series of appearances at summer camps beginning next month. For all the latest Justin Warren tour, music and more news, go to www.justinwarrenmusic.net, Facebook, Instagram, Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
