Elias Dummer and Sandra McCracken Encourage Us to Gaze on Jesus with "See Clearly"
Juno and GMA Canada Covenant Award-winner Elias Dummer releases his brand new single today. "See Cleary" finds Dummer singing with acclaimed singer/songwriter Sandra McCracken. The song was penned by Dummer and David Leonard (All Sons & Daughters) and co-produced with Brent Milligan.
"See Clearly" encourages the children of God to rest our gaze squarely on Jesus. "Information seems to only grow more chaotic and relative in our world, so I'm left with a simple prayer to Jesus: 'I only see clearly when I can see You,'" Dummer shares, encapsulating the song's core message. "When I fix my eyes on Jesus, He helps me see how I should behave more clearly; Jesus helps me see false beliefs more clearly; Jesus helps me see my neighbor more clearly."
For if my wandering heart will change
It sure won't be from want and ache
But by the Spirit of my God
It's You, it's only You
So I fix my eyes on You
I fix my eyes on You
"I adored working with Sandra because her voice carries an earnestness that so perfectly conveys the sentiment of 'See Clearly'-the temptation we all feel to settle for various forms of peace that simply don't last," he adds of the duet.
"See Clearly" marks Dummer's second single of the year, following January's "Kyrie Eleison (It's Mercy We Need)," featuring Seattle-based Citizens. Among a string of collaborations, Dummer released the gratitude-filled "Carry" last year with singer/songwriter JJ Heller, while acclaimed duo Land of Color joined him for September's "The Gospel Is Rest." Each of these selections, as well as Dummer's soaring 2021 anthem "Expectation," will be featured on his highly anticipated sophomore solo set, The Work Vol. II.
